Question: What is the most requested art work at the beginning of 2011?
Answer: Erwin Wurm's 'One Minute Sculptures'!
Fashionoffice looked closer at the statistics to find out what's the most requested art work in January 2011: the Austrian performance-sculptor Erwin Wurm is leading with his 'One Minute Sculptures' the 'Art-Ranking' on Fashionoffice. This ranking is not influenced by the fact that Fashionoffice is headquartered in Austria; 96% of the magazine users come from other countries, most of them from FR, US, DE, and UK. Hence the keyword and page view statistics are not exclusively counted by Fashionoffice's provider Globat (servers in Massachusetts, US) or by the worldwide active company Google (headquartered in California, US) for one country only - neither do we publish Austria-only statistics.
The results of the worldwide statistics can easily be explained: the Austrian artist Erwin Wurm attracts especially fashion and design addicted users because his 'One Minute Sculptures' are fashionably staged by showing himself or models in interaction with design objects or fashion pieces. Additionally, he influences even the music scene - music is one of the central editorial themes at Fashionoffice, such as the California based band members of 'Red Hot Chili Peppers', who had been inspired by his 'One Minute Sculptures' for the video 'Can't Stop'.
The combination of art + fashion + design + music is probably the reason, why requests for 'erwin wurm one minute sculptures' are leaded by search engines to Fashionoffice, according to the monthly logfile statistics by Fashionoffice's provider Globat.com (right on this page), which are consequently reflected in the Google Analytics top content report (ranking below) for January 2011.
The video 'Erwin Wurm - Pretty Cool People Interviews' gives an insight into the work of the artist.
