'Diamonds & Dub' from the collaborative #music album by VHS or BETA and Jacques Renault and Mark Verbos (out on 8 May, Krian Music Group)
DJ/producer Jacques Renault (Holy Ghost, YACHT, Midnight Magic) and engineer/remixer Mark Verbos (Fischerspooner, The Gossip, Gang of Four) created on invitation of the duo 'VHS or BETA' (consisting of Mark Palgy, Craig Pfunder) dub versions for seven of the nine tracks of the original VHS or BETA album 'Diamonds & Death' (2011). 'Diamonds & Dub' will be released on 8 May 2012 (Krian Music Group).
Mark Palgy about the idea of dub versions which "...began in the late 70s and early 80s. Artists began seeking extended 12 inch mixes of their songs to be played in nightclubs. And usually one side of the 12 inch had a 'dub version' which was a little less vocal and usually a bit spacier due to echoes made from spring reverbs and cool studio effects."
