Emerging fashion reflected in art

From 15 June to 7 October 2012, the Künstlerhaus in Vienna presents works by artists from all over the world which provide insights into new, emerging styles created by groups like ravers, goths, hiphops, or aggressive girls.

'Megacool 4.0' shows photos, paintings, installations, videos, sculptures... by around 40 international artists like awarded fashion photographer Erwin Olaf (born in the Netherlands - photo on this page), the Russian group AES + F, or Austrian Diana Deu.

'Megacool 4.0' introduces into lifestyles which are built from new gender performances and online cultures. Products of these new performances and cultures are fashion pieces, design objects, new body poses and movements.

Erwin Olaf's signature style could be described as 'New Glam' made of fantastic-horror-beauty-reality sceneries and spiced with erotic and humor. The photographer questions with his work norms, values and preconceived judgments about members of society.
