How Austrians make it on the toilet

...read on 16 November 2012 in the research results by the European toilet paper brand Zewa (belongs to the global hygiene and forest company SCA). Zewa announces to release the full results of the market research on 19 November, the official 'World Toilet Day' which sounds funny but hygiene strategies like safe toilets, clean water and sanitation are serious problems in many regions.

"Have you ever thought about the true meaning of dignity? World Toilet Day was created to pose exactly these kind of questions and to raise global awareness of the daily struggle for proper sanitation that a staggering 2.5 billion people face." worldtoiletday.org

The World Toilet Day is the day for breaking the taboo to speak about toilets. Thanks Zewa the world knows how the Austrians make it on the toilet! Zewa presents in sum eight different types of toilet users; find three - from typical to rare, on this page.

fig. original from left: 'The Partitioner' ('Der Stückler', 7,0% of the Austrians, many men and similar to the largest group called 'The Folders') partitions the toilet paper roll to single papers until the layered package is thick enough for usage. 'The Roller' ('Die Wicklerin', 7,1%, mainly women) rolls the toilet paper around her hand. 'Der Minimalist' uses only one sheet of paper! This group of toilet users is with 1,6% very rare in Austria, male and between 14 and 29 years old.
