Embroidery from a 1920s flapper dress on an oversized windbreaker
...seen at the Maison Martin Margiela Spring/Summer 2013 'Artisanal' collection which was presented in January 2013 during Haute Couture Fashion Week Paris.
The reworked vintage materials - like the embroidery from a 1920s flapper dress, are from Maison Martin Margiela's collection of clothes, accessories and objects from around the world. Some of the vintage collection pieces are also reworked as new fabrics such as on view on the image 2nd row, right; the dress consists of embroidery samples which are sewn onto nylon veiling, or on the first image, left, the colorful corsage which is made of French and Austrian feathers from hats from the beginning of the last century. Not on view as images on this page are the three 'Candy-Fur' items - watch them on the video. It starts with the bustier dress in metallic blue-silver, is continued by the golden coatdress and the silver 'Opera' coat; the embroideries are made from candy wrappers.
