Media art about clouds and signal sensors, robots and signals of love
...seen in April 2013 at the preview of the Toolkit Festival which will happen from 9 to 11 May 2013 on different venues in Venice (Italy). The idea of the media art festival is developed from researches on art, technology and the impact of interactive media art on the audience. Users can support the ongoing research and festival organization via Toolkit's fund raising campaign on toolkitfestival.com.
For the upcoming 3rd edition of the international festival of new media art, Toolkit curator Martin Romeo collected together with a jury works by twelve artists for the group exhibition under the title 'Contemplative Pathways' with main focus on interactive sculptures.
Curator Martin Romeo introduces into the festival and its artist from the whole world as a community project with art works like the one of: "...Ricardo O'Nascimento & Ebru Kurbak where an ensemble of feathers will create the illusion of a cloud that interacts with the public."

Ricardo O'Nascimento (works in Rotterdam) & Ebru Kurbak (based in Vienna); part of the Toolkit Festival, 9 - 11 May 2013, Venice.
The feather sculptures with electromagnetic signal sensors can be interactively moved by the audience with their mobile phones. (Watch the video.)
Robots and signals of love
fig. original: The technology-driven sculpture 'Love in the automation age' by the German artists Carolin Liebl and Nikolas Schmid-Pfähler is part of Toolkit Festival, 9-11 May 2013, Venice. The sculpture consists of two robots which are 'reacting' on each other as well as on the surrounding. The robots represent the loving couple Emily and Vincent, whose relationship is - just like in real life, affected by society. And it comes to misunderstandings. "If Vincent sends positive signals by up and down movements, it is possible that Emily interprets even those signals as negative. Disagreement is preprogrammed." (View the video.)
