Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, born in Stuttgart on December 11th, 1935, attended the
Waldorf School and studied at the Ulm
University of Design. In 1958 he joined the design office of Porsche.
He soon proved his talent for design by using plasticine to sculpt the first model of
a successor to the Porsche 356. The Porsche 911 based on his drawings was
presented to the public for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September
1963. A number of years later this car was destined to find a place as a design
classic in the collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art.
