Riding on Bikes through the City is Trendy
In January 2009 G-Star delivers the new motorcycle helmet 'GS Helmet' in open-faced, vintage racer-style design inspired by air force pilots. Since 2005 the Amsterdam based company follows with stylish helmets a trend which spans in the meanwhile over the whole world and is celebrated in cities such as Paris, New York, London ...
fig.: The shell is coloured in a matte Raw Grey tone uniquely formulated for G-Star with an olive drab (dark raw grey) centre-stripe and contrasting brown leather trim. A clear visor and hardware detailing fashioned from the same material as G-Star’s jeans rivets, gives a clean, stylish and classic look to this modern helmet. A fire-engine-red quick release toggle on the chin strap adds to the shell’s ECE safety rating. Sizes range from small to extra-large. Check out the store finder at www.g-star.com.
The Style World of Biking
Biking is one of the trendiest styles for moving from one place to another. David Byrne does it in New York and has created artful bike racks fashionoffice.org/culture/2008/davidbyrne9-2008.htm.
Bicycles are for sure the greenest, healthiest and - not to forget - body shaping (!) alternative to driving in a car. We have asked the readers of Fashionoffice which transportation they are preferring: the results in styleradar.com/survey/motor.html show that biking on a scooter or a motor bike is more favored than riding on a bicycle.
In the last months many fashionable pieces were created to perform stylish on the motor bike:
Delphine Murat designed the sporty, waterproof and unisex wearable bag "Pack Z Rain" for SS09. The practical jacket was used to dress Catherine Deneuve (!) in a music video fashionoffice.org/design/2008/delphinemurat10-2008.htm.
Crumpler's collection of bags, backpacks ... was been presented by Arnold, a male, 1.90m tall, who stripped for the shooting down to his pants fashionoffice.org/collections/2008/crumpler9-2008.htm.
