Music and wearable sculptural art
For the new album 'Cutting the Edge', Chicks on Speed have created artful instruments inspired by fashion such as the high-heeled guitar made of a stiletto and other musical objects developed from fashion accessories.
On 19th June 2009, Chicks on Speed perform on stage at the anniversary concert for the online designer store yoox.com in Bologna.
Chicks on Speed, who are renowned for their surreal music, film, art work as well as wearable sculptural art and fashion collections (for Insight, Crystal Ball and Yoox.com), have collaborated for this album with Mark Stewart, Kathi Glas, Anat Ben‐David, Christopher Just, Patrick Pulsinger, to name a few.
About Chicks on Speed
The group met while studying at the Munich Art Academy in the late-1990s. Chicks on Speed was founded by Melissa Logan (New York) and Alex Murray-Leslie (Bowral, Australia). They
collaborate with numerous artists, especially A.L. Steiner, Kathi Glas and Anat Bendavid. The band has an own clothing label!
