At the beginning of October, Fashion.at provided a pattern for a DIY backpack made of leftover material. Now, those who support the journalistic work of Fashion.at can get a backpack made from material that comes either from deadstock retail or from publisher Karin Sawetz's own archive. The backpacks are therefore made of different materials, colors and can be different in size and shape than the one shown on this page. Each one is unique - and a surprise! The basic pattern was developed by Fashion.at publisher Karin Sawetz, a trained journalist and fashion and clothing technologist. The bag will be sent as a thank-you for the support of the journalistic work on Fashion.at, which is not financed by Austrian institutions or companies. Fashion.at has been published as an independent journalistic magazine since 1996.

Images: Fashion.at publisher Karin Sawetz found the material in the warehouse of a deadstock retailer near Vienna. The material was labeled Deccan Leather Fashions. The leather material is applied to a knitted fabric. It's a very soft leather-textile that was most likely used for jackets. The pictures show the making of the backpack, which will be given by Fashion.at as a thank-you for the donation of 100 Euro. The backpacks will be produced as unique pieces in a limited edition in different materials and colors. How the final backpack will look like is a surprise!
