"When
I am not working on modeannex.com, I write literature - books, poems,
stories, I take fashion photos, play the classical guitar or think philosophically
about the meaning of fashion and literature and being a human being
in this difficult world."
David Payne
The life
of David Payne is an enigma, a enigma far from the world, but which
meets reality through writing. Born in Seattle in 1977, he wrote and
published his first poem at the age of seven. Through the expanses of
the earth, from New York City to San Francisco, New Orleans to Mexico,
this man Œaux semelles de vent¹ (With the soles of his feet like the
wind) paradoxically found his roots in the voyage. One day, his glance
posed on Europe. He then traversed Germany, Spain, Belgium, the Czech
Republic, and then to France where wearily he rested and remained (his
first book to be published was compiled in Paris). Though also a photographer,
journalist, a painter, composer, and an entrepreneur, it is by the alchemy
of his mastery of writing, the prodigious maturity of his style, that
makes him most profound. ³I see myself not as a man, nor as the sky,
neither the stars more as ember continuing to glow after the nights
and the fires have ceased² He recently said while describing his work.
