Shinsuke Takizawa's Neighborhood collection for adidas Originals is inspired by Native American culture

Tokyo headquartered label Neighborhood by Shinsuke Takizawa collaborated with adidas Originals for a collection of men's apparel and footwear which will come into selected stores worldwide on 11 October 2014. Some days before the global release, it's easy to find information about the adidas Originals by Neighborhood collection as several online media reported already about the collaboration and publish lookbook images which can be described with one word: cool; probably for most of the publishers the reason for coverage; one example picture from the lookbook on view on this page. The articles (like the one on freshnessmag.com with teaser video) about the adidas Originals by Neighborhood collection concern apparel as well as footwear; both are inspired by Native American culture and presented in a 'Wild Urban Outlaw' style. The wild or rebellious style is signature for Neighborhood creations by Shinsuke Takizawa who links closely his hobbies (customizing motorcycles, cars and music) to his work as he says in a video portrait where he reflects also upon counterculture and fashion and that both could closely coexist until the early 90ies; but with the change of media it became difficult to create an action with impact.
