Prints inspired by the Amazon and Kayapo Indians' body painting
It's the second time this year that Fashionoffice has received information about adidas Originals X The Farm Company. The first collaborative collection was about The Farm Company's prints inspired by Brazil's flora and fauna on classical 70ies adidas items. The collaboration reached the number one ranking of most viewed articles 2014 about new collections on Fashionoffice.
Now, the two partners are back with another collection. This time, adidas Originals and the Brazilian The Farm Company explore the Amazon and ancient cultural techniques. The Farm Company's 'Curso d'agua' and 'Mexcumerex' graphics were exclusively designed for the collaborative Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
The colorful floral and almost photo-realistic 'Curso d'agua' prints show images of the Brazilian sunrise and water lilies at the shore of the Amazon; the geometric monochrome patterns on the 'Mexcumerex' pieces (jacket, leggings, sweatshirt..) reference traditional body paintings of the Kayapo Indians; the print of the 'Firebird' track jacket from this series (image right above and below) is made of abstracted wildflowers and layers of feathers.
The adidas Originals X The Farm Company Spring/Summer 2015 collection can be viewed on adidas.com/farm (out in US, soon in Europe).
