Fashion, art and fair play in football
The animated gif on this page is part of the campaign 'In Football We Trust' for the Y-3 capsule collection on occasion of 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. The tribute collection consists of black and white items inclusively black ball (on view on the image below). The gif's cartoon art work shows two players who are shaking their hands as symbol for fairness and good sportsmanship. The iconography's 50s style makes think of the start of adidas - the partner of Yohji Yamamoto for Y-3, as own label which is since the beginning strongly connected with football. Despite it's the abbreviation of the founders name Adi Dassler, adidas is handled as acronym for 'All Day I Dream About Soccer'. Adidas has a long tradition in providing the official balls for FIFA; football fans gave this year's World Cup ball the name Brazuca.
