Collaboration of German fashion label and Portuguese cork farmers for new animal-friendly biker jackets

...without pre-financing through the bank. Since 4 May 2015, the crowdfunding project of the German eco-friendly and vegan label bleed organic is published on startnext.com where users can pre-order the woman's and men's jackets in black leather biker style until 7 June (estimated delivery is September). In the press release, bleed announces that 5% of the total sales will go to the animal rights organization PETA which supports the cork fashion project. Today, the startnext money tracker shows that almost 13,000 of 60,000 Euros are already funded.

The jackets are from the 'Montado Black Edition'. Montado is a Portuguese region which is known for its cork oaks and the production of wine stoppers. Prize winning eco-fashion label bleed organic (Ispo Brand New Award, German Umweltpreis des Bundes, PETA Progress Award, etc) worked two years on the development of the cork collection. In the video on the crowdfunding page, Kristoffer and Michael of bleed organic lead to the cork manufactory in Montado and explain the idea for the project and the advantages of cork against real leather or plastic leather-imitation: startnext.com/montado-black-edition.
