5 July 2016 The design of the 'Franz' and 'Sissi' shoe models by the label Dachstein are inspired by traditional alpine clothing materials (leather and linen) and equipped with rubber sole (Vibram®) which is especially developed for slippery grounds like mountainous terrain. Mountaineer and lifestyle shoe label Dachstein (founded 1925, references the mountain region Dachstein - on view at the image), named the men's and women's footwear after the former Austrian emperor and empress Franz and Sissi; especially Franz was known for loving the alps. Dachstein offers three color combinations for Franz and two for Sissi such as the one below in forest green and brown. The color mixes were chosen to wear the shoes even with the alpine clothing 'tracht' (the traditional dress is called 'dirndl', tracht leather pants for him or her, knit or leather jacket with linen skirt/trousers,...) at the beer festival ('Oktoberfest') in September, October. fig. left: The 'Sissi' and 'Franz' footwear is from the current 'Alpine Lifestyle' collection, 'Urban' line by Dachstein.
