Art in cotton: Graphic artist Jean Jullien X Petit Bateau

From mid-September, the special collection for babies, children, and adults by French label Petit Bateau in collaboration with graphic artist Jean Jullien (bio) will be available. The idea for incorporating the illustrations via jacquard knitting technique into cotton jersey instead of printing the graphical interpretations of cloth-skins of a cat, dog, ram, and zebra onto the fabric was born when Jean Jullien visited the Petit Bateau factory on Troyes. Through the jacquard technique, the illustrations get a more lively appeal; additionally, it gives the cotton jersey more substance and warmth.
