Vienna Insight: Impressions from the 3-days culinary event 'Wiener Genuss-Festival'
Since yesterday, the culinary heritage of Austria is celebrated at the annual 'Wiener Genuss-Festival' at Stadtpark in the center of Vienna where people enjoyed the garden atmosphere and special events like the Grillclub's introduction into grilling (two images below; left, the tent of the Grillclub; right, view at the garden). Until tomorrow the 8th May, food producers from all over Austria inclusively South Tyrol present their products at huts and tents. From region specific meat, sausages, cheeses, oils, wines, beers, teas, breads, to milk, candy and honey - such as seen at the booth of 'El Hac'. The Viennese tattoo artist (TV report about El Hac' Arabic calligraphy tattoos), hotel owner and fashion designer with Turkish roots fills Austrian honey mainly from Gols, Burgenland into skulls and mixes the healthy ingredients even with other flavors such as spicy chili from Egypt. He had chosen the skulls as message to earth citizens to honor and protect life on our planet; the life of honey bees as well as of humans in general. 'Save The Bees - Save The World' is the motto of the Honeyskull project.
