IRENE
ANDESSNER - donne illustre Caffè Florian, Venezia,
Piazza San Marco 14
June to 31 July 2003
Ten
prominent Venetian women occupy the "Salon of famous men"
Caffè Florian on St Mark´s Square in Venice: in the Salon
of famous men (Sala degli Uomini Illustri) hang ten oil paintings by
Giulio Carlini. Irene Andessner confronts these posthumously painted
portraits of famous Venetians with ten Venetian women into whom she
has, one by one, transformed herself. Her photo portraits, staged with
reference to historical pictures, are hanging illuminated in front of
the Carlini paintings for only six weeks. more culture >>>
