This sculpture by Juan Muñoz functions as a prologue to the exhibition.
It visualises an active mode of looking and stands for a conscious perception
of the world. These are concepts that pervade all the works on show
in "Images of Society". Yet what also emerges is how difficult
it is to know and the extent to which knowledge always impacts the subject.
