Lee Miller photographed as Vogue's war correspondent the liberation of Paris and of Dachau concentration camp. Her most famous photo is not photographed by herself, but shows her love for a composed, sometimes surreal, scenery: Lee Miller in Hitler's bath.

Lee Miller, born 1907 in Poughkeepsie, New York State, is one of the most famous female photographers of the 20th century. The muse, lover, and assistant of Man Ray worked as photographer for Chanel and Schiaparelli.

1940 Lee Miller became freelance photographer of Vogue, and from 1941 on Vogue's war correspondent in France and Germany. She died 1977 in England. The Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg exhibits around 170 photographs from 40 years of Lee Miller's work.
