Rimowa's new campaign references the history of public transport with airplanes, 11 February 2015
Alessandra Ambrosio and Johannes Huebl in the new Rimowa campaign which references the influence of aviation on luggage
Rimowa's new campaign tells the history of the iconic flight luggage in 1920s golden glam Hollywood settings like the one with Junkers F13 airplane (historic airplane for public transport), motorcycle, lights of a film studio and in between the label's signature aluminum and polycarbonate luggage pieces from collections like 'Classic Flight' (image right), Topas or Salsa. For the main roles of the glamorous departure and arrival scenes of the lookbook with the title 'A journey through time', the German producer of the light travel luggage selected the Brazilian Alessandra Ambrosio (known from Victoria's Secret runways) and the German model Johannes Huebl. Photographer of the campaign was Horst Diekgerdes who shot the images in New York; director of the movie-like series was Rimowa President and CEO Dieter Morszeck whose family member Paul Morszeck once pioneered the luggage industry with a case which was inspired by the light materials of airplanes. It's announced that the hardback lookbook with all images can be viewed at Rimowa stores; Fashionoffice found the digital version online on rimowa.com. Recently, Rimowa posted a behind-the-scenes video on Facebook where Ambrosio and Huebl speak about their work.
