Which leisure activities are currently allowed during lockdown in Austria? And how easy is it for Viennese to reach slopes for skiing? Sports activities are recommended during lockdown. Open air fitness is allowed - starting from walks to running, gymnastics in public parks or skiing. Almost two thirds, more than 60% of the Austrian landscape is mountainous. The geography of the capital city Vienna is absolutely different to the largest part of the country. Which means that also leisure activities in the Alpine regions are naturally different to the ones practised in the flat landscape of the capital which is lying in the Vienna Basin between the Alps and the Pannonian Basin. While Viennese walk or run 20 kilometers through the Prater, Styrians or Tyroleans also use their environment around them in the best way - and in winter, the population prefers the slopes of the mountains for skiing. In Salzburg, it's now (and very likely finally) the 17th December that hospitality services are allowed to open again. Après Ski in the form known as dancing and partying to loud music until the morning is still not allowed. But après events are not generally prohibited; they just have to follow special rules. Austrian Green Events Award 2021 winning Windrad Festival announced the lineup of the upcoming online music concert on 9 December 2021 Recently, the names of this year's winners of the Green Events 'nachhaltig gewinnen!' Awards by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology were made public. The awards are handed out to organisers of sustainable events in categories concerning sports, culture and festivities. For the first time, participants had the chance to submit projects to the special category 'Ideas competition for virtual green events'.
