How to act, live slow and keep the speed

'Slow' is a keyword that grew from eco-consciousness and is a new favorite term in our world.
But does it mean that we have to live without fashion, beauty, or speed? No, we only have to change our behaviour such as preferring products that are made of sustainable materials or choosing labels which are trying to reduce their carbon footprints.

No reason to fall into depressions if you can't quit some of your not-eco-friendly but beloved behaviours! Nobody is perfect.

Ladies Pit Crew Jacket from the BMW Sauber F1 Team Collection. The limited edition of 350 pieces premiered in January 2007. This jacket is not already vintage; but it has the best qualities to become a collector's piece.

Country-girl-meets-princess hair styling by Aveda global creative director Antoinette Beenders for the Sophie Théallet fall/winter 2010/11 show on 16 February 2010 at the Altman Building during New York Fashion Week. The hair style and the collection have a 'green' appeal. Photo: (C) Jon Gurinsky www.jongurinsky.com.

For this hair look, Antoinette Beenders has brought at first volume into the hair by using a tonic before blow-drying. Even for the next step she has used a volumizer with matte texturizing effect to get this unfinished combed hair look which is later fixed with a spray. “The Sophie Théallet collection this season is inspired by folklore, so we wanted to take that sweet feeling and rough it up with some texture and tousled volume. This look captures the idea of a country girl who becomes a princess - quickly pulling her messy hair up into a beautiful and romantic style,” says Antoinette Beenders.

  • Question to the designer Sophie Théallet: "You have made a real effort to “green” your show this season. How do you feel about this accomplishment?"
  • French born, in New York living designer Sophie Théallet: "Since the beginning of our brand, we have always tried to be as green as possible. We produce our garments locally in New York City, and always make sure to recycle our fabric and prints. We are proud to be partnering with a wonderful brand like Aveda for their environmentally-minded philosophy and products."

Beatrice Boyle has studied Fashion Illustration at the London College of Fashion and has a degree in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins. The fashion-artist's work for Browns Focus has got attention from magazines like Dazed digital or Vogue.

Sigg bottle by Vivienne Westwood inspired from the FW10/11 catwalk men's wear designs showing the slogan 'Act Fast, Slow Down. Stop Climate Change'.

Video: Vivienne Westwood men's wear fall/winter 2010/11, in January 2010 during Milan Fashion Week.

The bottle on this page is the first design of a bottle-series that will be released to coincide with the Vivienne Westwood fashion shows in February, June and September this year. The bottles are available in limited editions. The partnership between the UK designer and the Swiss reusable aluminium bottle builds awareness not to harm the planet by throwing away plastic. The idea is to help people to reduce their carbon footprint without compromising on style.
