Two sources for the design of sunglasses:
material and vintage
In October 2011, Maison Martin Margiela and Cutler&Gross present the new collaborative sunglasses collection consisting of four themes.
On this page, you find the shades which are inspired by the material and its manufacturing: ‘Rimless’ which evokes the illusion that the lenses are not framed; and the ‘Cable Temple’ with acetate frame and contrasting delicate arms made of German metal.
The
other two themes are inspired by designs from the 70s and 80s: the ‘Replica France' bases on French design of the 70s; the
‘Replica Turkey’ are a new interpretation of a Turkish Army model of the 80s.
