Re-edition of an Alpine ski world cup pullover from 1958

In December 2013, knitwear and outdoor fashion label Dale of Norway announced that the official Alpine world championship sweater from 1958 will be re-edited in Fall/Winter 2014/15 under the name 'ALPINA 1958'.

fig.: 'ALPINA 1958' sweaters for men and women in bottle green, navy and cream by Dale of Norway, Fall/Winter 2014/15.

The original pullover was worn by Norwegian skier Inger Bjørnbakken who won the women's slalom at the world cup in 1958 in Bad Gastein in Austria. The sweater was one of the first official athlete's outfits by Dale of Norway. The label was founded in 1879. Today, it is active as sponsor of Alpine skiers worldwide and creates pieces that tell stories such as the sweater for the Norwegian national team at the competitions in Val di Fiemme 2013; the sepia colored pullover is inspired by an end 19th century expedition of a scientist. The brand has officially the right to use the five rings of the Olympic logo as part of its profile. In FW2014/15, the 'ALPINA 1958' pullover will belong to the official outfit of the Norwegian national ski team.
