...who is one of the shortlisted designers at the 26th edition of the International Festival of Fashion and Photography at Hyères (29 April - 2 May, exhibitions until 29 May). Oda Pausma was selected from a prominent jury under the head of Raf Simons (chief designer at Jil Sander) and members like Style.com journalist Tim Blanks. The information about her selection and collection was sent with the words: "Here everything starts with an end: a vanished love... Long black silhouettes create a sad parade. Fluid silk combined with structured leather reflect the melancholic character of the collection."

Shirin Neshat is wellknown for her multimedia installations in museums, which are telling multi-layered stories on several video screens. 'Women without Men' is the first movie by Shirin Neshat that is made for the cinema. It chronicles the revolutionary summer 1953 in Iran from a female view. Now, Shirin Neshat's two-channel video work 'Fervor' (2000) about the restrictive gender roles since the 1979 revolution in Iran is from 9 March to 22 May part of the group exhibition 'I Know Something About Love' at the Parasol Unit in London parasol-unit.org/index.php?id=531.

...centers around the traditional symbol of the butterfly which stands in the culture of the Miao People (linguistic group, especially located in South West China) for the creation of life. Indonesia born, Hongkong based Ika Butoni re-interprets the folkloristic clothing of the Miao People who use the rich weavings, embroideries, batik-colorings as carriers for history and emotions. The very extravagant headwear consists of hair that is wrapped around animal long-horns.

The computer animated story about the little lamp, directed by John Lasseter, received an Oscar nomination in the category 'Best Short Film' and marks the beginning of a new era. Pixar-productions like Oscar-awarded 'Toy Story' (in 1995 the first full-length computer animated movie in the history of film), 'Finding Nemo' (2003), 'Ratatouille' ( 2007)... to name a few, followed.
