Keywords, search engines and how users find content online
The most used keyword/phrases on search engines that led users in December 2010 to articles on Fashionoffice was the German term 'auto', which means translated 'car'. According to the statistics by Fashionoffice's provider Globat.com, approximately 30% of the 'keyphrases used on search engines' and 13,2% of the keywords that bring users to Fashionoffice is 'auto'. In the last years, Fashionoffice has researched keywords, their effects on finding information online and how the request for content is tracked by reliable servers. A summary of the study (duration 2006-2010) was published recently. "What makes the results interesting is that we are not monitoring a hacked server - we have checked it with officials and provider over the last years, but a standard for web-content on online-domains." In the video on occasion of the exhibition 'Burning Down the House: Building a Feminist Art Collection' at the Brooklyn Museum, Nayland Blake speaks about the impact of feminism on the perception of the world around him; such as that wearing a certain t-shirt can be a political act and the importance of the visual education of children. Nayland Blake is chair of the ICP-Bard Program in Advanced Photographic Studies at the International Center of Photography in New York, which invites now to an 'Open House' on 11 Jan. Question: What would you say is different about ICP's MFA program? Answer: "Some other MFA programs train students for one very narrow kind of career once they leave the school. In effect they are training students to be cogs in a certain type of art world machine. Successful cogs, but still ... The travel guide publication Gayot.com (pronounce it 'guy-OH' - for the ones who don't speak French) publishes the dates of the coming Fashion Weeks in Milan (Men's Wear 15-18 Jan), Berlin (19-22 Jan), Paris (Men's Wear 19-23 Jan, Haute Couture 24-27)... with hyperlinks to the organizers websites.
