SHORT MESSAGES (from the FashionFeeds):

15 Dec 2010 - 'Loud Mouths' by 'Wise Blood'
Just received the hyperlink to the single 'Loud Mouths' by the US musician 'Wise Blood' aka Christopher Laufman with the news that Wise Blood has recently signed to Dovecote Records and plans to release a new EP in early 2011. "By day, twenty-one year old Laufman works in a cemetery as an undertaker. When the sun goes down he is better known as Wise Blood, turning out heavy sample based pop bliss in his bedroom."

15 Dec 2010 - 'Our Own Pretty Ways' by Swedish folk duo 'First Aid Kit'
A YouTube-user comments one month ago that the reason why the video is lovely is '...how these wonderful girls have their clothes on. That's the difference between talent and no talent. If you have no talent you have to create a diversion that makes people focus on something else, like T and A. Hence all the semi-naked women strutting around on stage these days..." On 18 Jan 2011, Third Man Records will release a vinyl 7-inch 2 songs record of the 17 and 20-year old sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg, produced by Jack White www.thirdmanrecords.com.

14 Dec 2010 - Snapshots from a 'Polar Bar' on a hotel's roof top equipped with Italian fashion fabrics
The Italian label Stone Island provided the interactive fabrics (one changes its look with the temperature, the other is highly reflective) for the lounge of the recently opened 'Polar Bar' (looks like an expedition camp) on the roof top of the hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich.

14 Dec 2010 - Word installation 'Circus' by Barbara Kruger
US artist Barbara Kruger's word installation 'Circus' on the floor, ceiling, walls at the Rotunda of the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt (DE) with sayings like "Belief + Doubt = Sanity" or "What you love is better than what I love. What you believe is truer than what I believe. What you hate deserves it." can be viewed from 15 Dec - 30 Jan 2011. "The artist's sentences for the Schirn oscillate between generally valid statements, requests directed at the viewers, and psychological observations. Their enigmatic character is irritating, and their impact overwhelming, not least because of their extraordinary size." schirn.de

14 Dec 2010 - Re-listen: 'Paradise (Not For Me)' by Madonna feat. Yitzhak Sinwani
The video of the performance of Madonna and Yitzhak (English 'Isaac') Sinwani was shot during Madonna's Confessions Tour in 2006. Yitzhak Sinwani, who
sings a Jewish poem instead of the originally French song text, wears according to Madonna's tour website a turban designed by Jean Paul Gaultier.
In 2001, Madonna interpreted the song on stage in a Geisha costume by Jean Paul Gaultier. In the official video 'Paradise (Not For Me) directed by Dago González, Madonna wears an authentic wedding kimono from a Japanese woman that was found by costumer Arianne Phillips in Los Angeles madonnatribe.com/idol/dago_one.htm.

13 Dec 2010 - A bag on the shoulder of an actor in a movie
Recently, the Viennese film and theatre costume workshop Kostümhaus has founded the own label 'wienzwoelf' and released a handmade bag under the title 'A bag from Vienna'. The bag is made of recycled materials from an old seabag, parachute... and has already 'played' in Austrian movies that will be released soon: in 'Willkommen in Wien', directed by Nikolaus Leytner (2010), the bag stars on the shoulder of the actor in the leading role; and in the culture-clash comedy 'Und Bollywood kam in die Berge', directed by Holger Haase (2010), the bag appears in a story about a Bollywood-team in the Austrian Alps.

13 Dec 2010 - Couture house stages Paris hotel new
The French Haute Couture house Maison Martin Margiela re-creates the interior of the groundfloor, 7 suites and 10 guest rooms of the hotel ‘Maison Champs-Elysées’ in Paris, opening April 2011. Since December 2009, a team designs the new collections by following the ideas of Belgian Martin Margiela, who has left the house. The label is co-owned by Renzo Rosso, founder of Diesel. The design team is not leaded by a creative director. It seems as if the 'design-team-work'- concept is part of the label's program. Maison Martin Margiela announces that the team "...creates a theatrical environment where reality and trompe-l’œil are mixing together."

12 Dec 2010 - Music video: 'Only The Young' by Brandon Flowers
...is the second track from the premiere solo album 'Flamingo' by Brandon Flowers, frontman of the US band 'The Killers'. Director Sophie Muller has placed him in a smoking between stars and angel-alike flyers. Muller's work is known from videos such as 'Wind It Up' Gwen Stefani (who has launched her fashion label with the video in 2006) or commercials like for L'Oréal with Beyoncé Knowles.
