14 March 2011 - Sport video 'Throwdown' for a new shoe with a sole that looks like hacked
The video with scenes from several sports disciplines (some are risky) accompany the campaign for the 'Free Run 2' sneaker by Nike. The sole looks like hacked into blocks. Global director for Nike's running footwear Toby Bignel says about the construction: "The sole is a full length Phylite material and it’s siped all the way from the heel right up through the mid-foot, right up into the forefoot so it gets a really nice flexible movement. We’ve actually added a little bit of rubber here in the heel and up in the toe where you need a bit more durability and a bit more traction where you’re really clawing off the ground."

...from the album 'Two Fingers' (2009). Now, the experimental sound designer Amon Tobin announces the release of his new psychedelic album 'Isam' on 23 May. On occasion of the new album, Amon Tobin and Saatchi Collection artist Tessa Farmer present the art installation 'ISAM: Control Over Nature' from 26 May to 5 June at The Crypt Gallery in London. Tessa Farmer says: "ISAM is beautiful, surprising, playful, disturbing and unnerving at times. It has an incredible energy, to which I am responding to instinctively, conjuring scenes that reflect the varying moods of the tracks. US artist Zoë Charlton references in the new exhibition 'Paladins and Tourists' themes like European colonisation or the dominance of Western culture by presenting male models in provocative poses. Zoë Charlton about her work: "It was interesting that some of the men made efforts to define themselves in relation to me as a black female artist. They seemed eager to align themselves with me by telling me about certain interests, like Reggae music, or about causes they support, like Water for Africa." The exhibition is on show at the Conner Contemporary Art gallery in Washington (19 March to 30 April).
