Now, Fashionoffice has received the information that George Michael is wearing on the cover of his new single 'True Faith' (released physically on 14 March) the sunglasses 'Bel Air' by the Belgian brand theo, created by fashion designer Tim Van Steenbergen. The designer has been inspired by the round forms and chrome of American vintage cars.

14 March 2011 - Sport video 'Throwdown' for a new shoe with a sole that looks like hacked
The video with scenes from several sports disciplines (some are risky) accompany the campaign for the 'Free Run 2' sneaker by Nike. The sole looks like hacked into blocks. Global director for Nike's running footwear Toby Bignel says about the construction: "The sole is a full length Phylite material and it’s siped all the way from the heel right up through the mid-foot, right up into the forefoot so it gets a really nice flexible movement. We’ve actually added a little bit of rubber here in the heel and up in the toe where you need a bit more durability and a bit more traction where you’re really clawing off the ground."

"To watch a 'hair artist' going through his precise gestures, like an artist making a sculpture, is fascinating," says documentary artist J.D. 'Okhai Ojeikere (born and living in Nigeria) who began to photograph in the early 1950s, since the late 60s he is capturing Nigerian culture with strong focus on 'Moments of Beauty'. Now, the Centre for Contemporary Art in Lagos announces the exhibition 'Moments of Beauty' with works by J. D. 'Okhai Ojeikere that cover architecture, education, fashion, social life, and cultural festivals at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Kiasma in Helsinki (FI, 15 April– 27 November) kiasma.fi.

...from the album 'The ArchAndroid'. Singer/songwriter/dancer Janelle Monáe describes herself as a Nerd, believes in time travels and has an alter-ego 'Cindi Mayweather', an android. The Daily telegraph describes her as a mix of James Brown, Judy Garland, Andre 3000 and Steve Jobs. Her signature clothing style is a tuxedo.

11 March 2011 - Fashion show 'Mode statt Hode' (translated 'Fashion instead of Boys, in the meaning of Bollocks')
...of mostly women's wear by the students of the fashion class of designer Bernhard Willhelm (German born, studied in Antwerp) at the University of Applied Arts Vienna on 8 March as a statement about gender roles and a hint to take life with humour. The male models on the catwalk are the four members of the Austrian art group Gelitin (also known as 'Gelatin'), who appear often naked or present 'nakedness', and 7 other men (actors, musicians,...) - all dressed up, more or less.

11 March 2011 - Re-listen: Dance electro hip-hop 'Bad Girl ft. Ce'Cile' by Two Fingers (Amon Tobin and Joe 'Doubleclick' Chapman)

...from the album 'Two Fingers' (2009). Now, the experimental sound designer Amon Tobin announces the release of his new psychedelic album 'Isam' on 23 May. On occasion of the new album, Amon Tobin and Saatchi Collection artist Tessa Farmer present the art installation 'ISAM: Control Over Nature' from 26 May to 5 June at The Crypt Gallery in London. Tessa Farmer says: "ISAM is beautiful, surprising, playful, disturbing and unnerving at times. It has an incredible energy, to which I am responding to instinctively, conjuring scenes that reflect the varying moods of the tracks. ...for the new poster of the Salon de la Photo (largest photography market event in Europe, 6 - 10 October in Paris) by photographer and performance/installations artist Chrisma Lan, who started her career with portraits of celebrities like Nina Hagen or Richard Attenborough. After Chrisma Lan has met Helmut Newton in Paris, she turned to fashion and beauty photography.

10 March 2011 - Female artist on male power
US artist Zoë Charlton references in the new exhibition 'Paladins and Tourists' themes like European colonisation or the dominance of Western culture by presenting male models in provocative poses. Zoë Charlton about her work: "It was interesting that some of the men made efforts to define themselves in relation to me as a black female artist. They seemed eager to align themselves with me by telling me about certain interests, like Reggae music, or about causes they support, like Water for Africa." The exhibition is on show at the Conner Contemporary Art gallery in Washington (19 March to 30 April).
