24 June 2011 - 'You're No Good' by About Group from the new album 'Start and Complete'
The album's art work shows a design of the textile sisters 'Collier Campbell' consisting of Susan Collier and Sarah Campbell. The awarded designers have collaborated for example with Yves St Laurent for the fabrics of his first ready-to-wear 'Gypsy'-collection. In an interview, they are speaking about that time: "In the early ’70s one of our Liberty of London silk dress designs caught his eye … he wanted a range built round it, we had the most joyous time painting the sketches, singing and dancing, and the results were the two prints used in his first off-the-peg Gypsy Collection – we loved it." blog.houseoffraser.co.uk/interiors/in-the-hot-seat-susan-collier-sarah-campbell/. Austrian born Andreas Kronthaler is a former student of Vivienne Westwood at the University of Applied Arts/Vienna and the designer's 25 years younger husband; they married in 1992.

Vivian Maier was born to a French mother and Austrian father in the Bronx/New York in 1926. The traveler between Europe and US has worked as a nanny. Beside her job she has taken more than 100.000 photos. Her extensive work was unveiled on occasion of an auction in Chicago in 2007. ...at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart where for the first time the whole 'Daimler Art Collection' (founded 1977) of around 2000 pieces (from Constructivism to New Media Art) are exhibited in a 'time-order' fitting to the designs of the cars - from family to racing cars. The exhibition 'Art & Stars & Cars' runs until 25 September.

...directed by UK based Ben Reed who is known to bring humour into low budget productions. 'Blue Harbour' is released on the self-titled single as well as on the album 'Beer in the Breakers' (released in May 2011) by the East-London based three members band 'The Wave Pictures'.

19 June 2011 - Electro pop sisters 'Le Corps Mince de Françoise' (LCMDF) performing on Frankie Morello men's wear 2012 catwalk in Milan
...in a stage setting with bicycles to the collection under the title 'I'm The Messenger'. The Frankie Morello designers Maurizio Modica and Pierfrancesco Gigliotti have been inspired by a NY messenger boy who doesn't follow rules. The Milan based duo has designed a collection of colorful urban-sporty pieces for the ones "who struggle and weave their way through traffic jams for their daily survival". 19 June 2011 - Organic ice cream and fair trade roses in an installation at the Berlin Fashion Week
...with the intention to open all senses for eco-lifestyle trends. Fashionoffice just received the information from the Austrian organic fashion, beauty and interior label Grüne Erde which takes part in the eco showroom in Berlin. The installation 'Roses & Ice Cream' is on view, taste, scent at the eco showroom from 7 to 9 July during the Berlin Fashion Week.

19 June 2011 - Video: Digitalisation, slow down, craftsmanship - keywords for men's wear 2012 from Milan Fashion Week
By searching for the reactions of journalists on the new Burberry men's wear collection SS2012 presented during Milan Fashion Week, one of the most used keywords is 'slow' in the meaning of slow movement realised in a collection under the title 'Handcrafted Heritage' which focuses on nature and 'analogous' methods of production. Burberry presents for SS2012 ethnic patterns on knits, shirts, shoes etc, raw materials like natural wood, weathered metals, natural horn on comfortable outerwear such as trench coats, parkas, and handmade details like stitching, spraying, or beading.

18 June 2011 - Interrelation between art, performance, architecture, design, music, and fashion
...visualised by fashion/art works at the exhibition 'Get in the Haze - Where does fashion end and art begin?' at the Museumsquartier in Vienna (runs until 5 September). Now, curator Lliure Briz and guest artist Irene Alvarez invite children (from 7 to 12 years) to the playful fashion/art workshop 'Little Brains' from 30 June to 2 July. The products of the workshop (sculptures, installations, design outfits...) will be presented on 2 July in an own exhibition. The title of the workshop 'Little Brains' is derived from the knowledge that the creative interaction with fashion and art can activate the brain for more intuitive, spontaneous and innovative ideas quartier21.at.

18 June 2011 - Music-video: 'Party Machine' by electronic music pioneer Bruce Haack and pre-Def Jam Russell Simmons
...remixed by Prince Language; from the collection of vocoder recordings between 1970 and 1982 released on the album 'Farad: The Electronic Voice'. Bruce Haack (1931-1988) named the vocoder 'Farad' after the physicist Michael Faraday. "Haack's music is rooted in the idea that humans and electronic machines share a reciprocal relationship that manifests itself through sounds. In order to further explore this dynamic, Haack dropped out of Juilliard to pursue a more experimental course in, surprisingly, educational children's music."

The collection 'doing your own thing' by the Hamburg (DE) based design label yog:k uniwearsal is created under the motto 'form follows function' and uses mostly ecologically produced and fair traded materials. 17 June 2011 - Stylish electro scooter arrives in Europe
Honda just announced that the environmental friendly electro scooter 'EV-neo' comes in July to Europe (already available in Japan since April). The EV-neo was presented in Barcelona; the video provides impressions from driving the scooter, insights into the technical features and shows in the style of an instruction manual how to load the battery.
